CEN Executive Conference 2026: Leadership, Culture and the Human Future

ADHD Lifespan Clinic & Training is proud to be a Bronze Sponsor of the CEN Executive Conference 2026, taking place on 27–28 August 2026 at Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart, Tasmania.

This year’s conference explores a timely question for education leaders:

What does it mean to flourish?

CEN-Executive-Conference-adhd-in-classroomUnder the theme “What Does It Mean to Flourish? Leadership, Culture, and the Human Future,” the CEN Executive Conference brings together Christian education leaders to consider leadership, school culture, technology, wellbeing and the formation of people in an increasingly complex world.

For ADHD Lifespan Clinic & Training, the focus on schools, human development and the changing educational environment provides an important opportunity to connect with educators and school leaders who support students with diverse learning and developmental needs.

About the CEN Executive Conference 2026

The CEN Executive Conference 2026 is hosted by Christian Education National (CEN) and brings together education leaders for two days of keynote presentations, workshops, reflection and discussion.

The 2026 programme explores what flourishing means within leadership, school culture and the lives of the people schools serve.

The conference considers how schools can develop leaders with depth, wisdom and resilience, build cultures that support growth, and respond thoughtfully to rapid technological change.

Exploring Human Flourishing in an AI-Shaped World

One of the opening keynote sessions, “AI & Human Flourishing: Fully Human, Fully Alive,” explores what it means to remain fully human in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

Presented by Stephen Driscoll of the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students, the session considers how technology may influence the way people think about efficiency, humanity and flourishing.

The programme also includes workshops exploring teaching, thinking and AI in schools and how schools can steward technology well.

For educators, these conversations raise important questions about how technology can be used thoughtfully while keeping people, relationships and learning at the centre of education.

What Does It Mean to Flourish as a Leader?

The conference also examines leadership and the responsibility of developing people who can lead with wisdom, resilience and purpose.

Dr David Benson, Executive Director of Associated Christian Schools, presents the keynote “What Does It Mean to Flourish as a Leader?”

The programme explores leadership as formation and calling, including how leaders can develop the depth and resilience needed to carry responsibility and support others.

Building School Cultures That Help Students Flourish

The conference also looks beyond individual leadership to the broader cultures created within schools.

Sessions such as “Beyond Safety: Forming Cultures That Can Carry Weight” and workshops focused on cultures that form and cultures that endure explore how schools can create environments that support depth, resilience and growth.

For students with ADHD, the school culture and environment can be particularly important.

ADHD does not present in exactly the same way in every student. Some students may experience difficulties with attention, organisation, impulse control, emotional regulation, task initiation or executive functioning, while others may appear quiet but still experience significant challenges.

Understanding these differences can help educators look beyond surface-level behaviour and consider what may be contributing to a student’s experience at school.

Understanding ADHD in the Classroom

ADHD Can Look Different From Student to Student

One student may struggle to remain seated, interrupt frequently, or act before thinking.

Another may sit quietly but have difficulty sustaining attention, organising their work or following through instructions.

A student may understand what needs to be done but struggle to begin. Another may start confidently but lose track of the task partway through.

These differences can make ADHD difficult to recognise and can sometimes lead to assumptions about motivation, behaviour or effort.

For teachers and school leaders, developing a practical understanding of ADHD can help create more informed conversations around student learning and support.

Whether you’re a teacher, school leader or education professional, developing a practical understanding of ADHD can help provide a stronger foundation for supporting students in the classroom.

The conversations taking place at the CEN Executive Conference highlight an important consideration for schools: flourishing is not simply about academic achievement or performance.

Students bring different strengths, experiences, and support needs into the classroom.

For students with ADHD, creating supportive educational environments begins with understanding that ADHD can present differently from one student to another.

Teachers and school leaders do not need to have all the answers. Building knowledge, asking informed questions, and working collaboratively can be important steps towards supporting students more effectively.

ADHD Lifespan Clinic & Training is pleased to support the CEN Executive Conference 2026 as a Bronze Sponsor and to connect with educators and school leaders who are committed to helping students and school communities flourish.
