Young Adults
Our lifespan focus means we support people with ADHD through all stages of their life
Our clinic is a lifespan clinic, and as such, the continue management of children into late adolescence and young adulthood in a seamless manner. We recognise that ADHD is no longer to be viewed a purely a childhood condition and that a high percentage of people have ongoing difficulties with their ADHD into adulthood, despite being treated as children. Indeed, the transition from the structure of school into the wider world frequently creates significant challenges.
Our clinical team has a good understanding of the issues involved in helping our patients establishing long-term motivation and goals in life, appropriate relationships and employment, and enable them to live the best life they can. We aim to provide consistency of doctor and clinical approach, in contrast to the traditional model of care, where there has been necessary transfer of care to a Psychiatrist. As ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition, rather than primarily a Psychiatric one, we consider that most young people – and adults – are best managed by a Lifespan expert in ADHD.
